Hey there, boys and girls.
As you may have guessed by the all-too-obvious title, I'm down here in Auckland for a spell, doing storyboard and concept work for the film production of "30 Days of Night". For those of you who aren't comic geeks- "30 Days of Night" is a fantastic vampire story... here's the snappy description from Amazon.com:
"In a sleepy, secluded Alaska town called Barrow, the sun sets and doesn't rise for over thirty consecutive days and nights. From the darkness, across the frozen wasteland, an evil will come that will bring the residents of Barrow to their knees. The only hope for the town is the Sheriff and Deputy, husband and wife who are torn between their own survival and saving the town they love..."
Ewwwww, scary.
If you haven't read the graphic novel, you should. It's a great twist on the vampire genre. And the art's fantastic.
Anyway, I've been trying to stay in touch with everyone separately, but it's tough to get to everyone because I'm really slammed. (I love being so busy, but- DAMN!) So I figured I'd fianlly give in and try out this marvelous 'Blogger' technology.
I'll try to update regularly with pics and reports from Down Under.
Feel free to drop me a line whenever any of you lovely people feel so inclined.
See you real soon... until then, check out some pictures from my first few days in Auckland, as well as a few digital sketches I did on the plane.
Later, taters
